A Presentation Day

Wow what a month!!
This month of March has flown by so quicky. We have had so many things to do in school: homework, quizes, tests and today I had my first Presentationj for my Human Resources in Japan Class. This week is midterms week also and I have been pretty busy. Afterall I think all my hard work is paying off, I am learning more Japanese to the point that I can actually understand a native's conversation and also in my Negotiation class we truly get the BEST lectures of the day- My teacher is excellent and I love the material we cover in that class. It's al about understanding cultures and ways to negotiates with each of them.
These photos are from today, the first one was leaving my seminar house (dorm) to go to my class. That's my everyday day route, from the Seminar house to school and back. Sometime I have long breaks between classes so I go back home, fix luch, maybe go to the gym and then go back to school.
The second photo was taken in from of the Sports fields in the University at Kansai Gaidai.
I am pretty excited now, all we have left is one more day of class before our Spring Break and I can't wait.
Also, the general Japanese class schedule will start in April 11th, so right now the university is full of students who are doing their registration and orientation. It's pretty amazing because the school is actually busier than ever. Many students are walking around and the cafeteria and computer labs are full of life. Now we get to see more of what it is like to study in a Japanese University.

The Plum Blossoms

It is now March and I'm very excited to tell you about my first day checking out the plum blossoms.
Here was my regard this day, these gorgeous and amazingly beautiful plum blossoms all around the Park sparked my life. There were hundreds of trees with different tones of red, pink, white, and fucia. The second photo was taken from the top of the park, so it was very interesting and they smelled so delicious!!!
It was sunny and very warm. People were taking many photos, eating, having pick nick under the trees and enjoying the season. Many people come to check out the Osaka Castle, and other just come to enjoy the blossoms. There were many people walking their dogs, which are usually really well dressed up.
If you want to receive the gallery of photos just e-mail me and I will forward you my kodak gallery. I have many cool photos in ti.

This is how may day started and what happened On Sunday March 4th.
I got up at 5:00 am because I couldn't sleep well. Of course how could I close my eyes if the night before I drank 3 cups of strong coffee with my upstairs neighbors from Egypt, Germany, and Sweeden. We studied until midnight approximately but when I went to bed couldn't catch one dream.
So on Sunday I had some breakfast, and asked my roomates how to get Osaka JO Koen (Osaka Park), then I got ready and at about 9:00am I grabbed my camera took off by myself to see the beautiful plum blossoms. I had to first catch a bus to Hirakata City, it only takes about 1o minutes and costs 220 yens ($2.20), then I went to the Train Station. See here in Japana there are many different train lines and train stations, as well as subways or (Metro in Spanish) -so when you travel you have to know which one you are taking depending of the city you are visiting and depending on the speed you want to go. Usually the faster you go the more expensive the train ticket fair. So I went in the Keihan Line and purchased a "Kipu" (ticket) for
320 yens ($3.20) From Hirakatashi to Kyobashi. The "shi" at the end of the Names stands for City. Once I got to Kyobashi I had to change train line and go up the stair and cross the busy train stations to transfer to a JR line Station. JR is Japan Rail, there I was looking at the fare prices in front of the ticket machine, and some japanese men approached me and looked at me really weird, certainly his body language told me what he was looking for. Here in Japan, we have been told that many older man, and executive looking ones, are hanging around the train stations to solicit "...." you may imagine, what I am talking about, and usually they are after foreigners, so it was good I was aware of that otherwise, I may have thought he just wanted to talk or ask questions. The way I approached this situation was by giving him a very serious look. He looked nervous and left but 3 minutes later he came back again, and again I gave him the dirties look so he would leave me alone, so he left and never saw him around anymore. I was a little nervous in the beggining but then I got my ticket and jumped into the JR from Kyobashi to Tenoji Station (Osaka Jo Koen), just one stop from that station and arrived to the beautiful Osaka Park.

n

Chinese New Year From Feb 17-25
This was on Saturday the 24th.

Many people come to Kobe to celebrate Chinese New Year. There were many different foods stands and souvenir shops around this China Town, it was very crowded and loud, but it seemed that people were really having a great time eating all their traditional delicateses. The whole block aslso is surrounded buy many shops and Chinese Food Restaurants. They had the Drangon Dance twice a day, and it was farely difficult to get in front of the crowd to observe and take nice photos.

To get to Kobe from Hirakata City you have to take two trains and the whole trip takes about 1 1/2 hour, and it costs about 1,000 yen ($10).
